Michee recently completed his sophomore year at Lourdes Academy. He is a hardworking student who participated in baseball, Campus Ministry and the Lourdes Chemistry Club. Last fall he participated in soccer at Lourdes and enjoyed winter soccer at the YMCA.
Michee has been very blessed to become a part of the Hedge family during his recent stay. The Hedges describe Michee as a “bright, typical teenage boy, nice disposition and willing to help”.
When asked about their hosting experience, Randy and Holly had this to say: “Hosting has been a gift our family will cherish for the rest of our lives. He is a wonderful young man and we learn from each other and with each other every day.”
Michee is presently at home with his family in the capital city of Bujumbara. He is working hard at his summer assignments which take him to schools in the remote area of rural Burundi where he observes firsthand the extreme poverty which plagues his nation. He is also becoming acquainted with the horror of the civil war and ethnic cleansing which has taken place in his country through stories family members are sharing with him.
Michee will eagerly return to the Oshkosh community, Lourdes Academy and a new American host family in mid-August. Will you be that host family who will open your home and your heart to Michee?
